General training
Many people consider cats to be so self-sufficient that they would never accept any kind of training, so they give up any attempts at teaching them anything whatsoever. In fact, even though they come across as being less “open-hearted” than dogs, cats are extremely intelligent and receptive creatures and can be obedience trained. Just do not expect a cat to be as cheerfully obedient as a dog would be…but if you have patience and keep trying, you’ll see that they really make great pets.

Behaviour
If your dog does things like chewing up your clothes and tearing apart your furniture, it's not because he's “bad”. Either he does it because…he likes it or, more likely, because he's bored to death. Lack of physical and entertaining activities often leads to excessive aggressive and weird behaviour, so that even handling the sweetest puppy sometimes becomes a real job. As a responsible dog owner, you should provide your friend not only with food but also with “thinking” activities.
